The Korea Consumer Agency will strengthen cooperation with related organizations, expand disclosure of information on businesses with many reports of damage, boost litigation support for consumers, and expand relief for similar or identical consumers

Han Ki-jung, chairman of the Fair Trade Commission, visited the Seoul Support Center of the Korea Consumer Agency on the 8th to inspect consumer policies and people's livelihoods. At the meeting, Chairman Han Ki-jung encouraged civil affairs officials, while emphasizing that increasing satisfaction with consumer counseling and damage relief is to solve the difficulties of people's livelihoods, and urged them to improve customer satisfaction by providing effective damage relief services.

In response, the Korea Consumer Agency said it will strengthen cooperation with related organizations, expand disclosure of information on businesses with many reports of damage, boost litigation support for consumers, and expand relief for similar or same consumer damage.

The Korea Consumer Agency plans to expand joint responses to consumer damage by strengthening cooperation with related organizations such as local governments and the National Police Agency. For example, earlier this year, the Korea Consumer Agency's Busan support plan to expand it to Gwangju, Daejeon, and Daegu support as the result of education and meetings for consumer protection officials in Busan Metropolitan City increased by 41.4%p year-on-year.

The Korea Consumer Agency said it will expand the disclosure of information through the media to meet consumers' right to know and encourage businesses to voluntarily resolve consumer damage.

In addition, for businesses that repeatedly reject the Consumer Dispute Mediation Committee's mediation decision, it plans to increase the effectiveness of resolving consumer damage by expanding consumer litigation support, and to this end, it will expand the number of litigation support lawyers from the current 80 to 100.

Finally, the Korea Consumer Agency plans to expand similar and same damage relief packages that address the damage of consumers who suffered the same type of damage in addition to consumers who directly applied for damage relief so that more consumers can benefit from damage relief services.
