Han Ki jung, chairman of the Fair Trade Commission, visited the Seoul Support Center of the Korea Consumer Agency on the 8th. The visit was designed to identify areas with high consumer damage and the current status of dispute settlement for communication at the site of people's livelihoods and to reflect it in the establishment of consumer policy. The Seoul Support of the Korea Consumer Agency is composed of an automobile team, a financial insurance team, and a medical team in charge of damage relief in the field, and the Secretariat of the Dispute Mediation Committee is also located.
Han Ki jung, chairman of the committee, encouraged employees of the Seoul branch of the Korea Consumer Agency, who are trying to remedy consumer damage, and stressed that the organic relationship between identifying consumer damage areas through the sound of the site and establishing consumer policies based on this should continue.
The Korea Consumer Agency reported that the number of applications for damage relief and dispute settlement increased by 6.7% and 37.5%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. In response, Chairman Han Ki-jung said, "As the number of consumer damage relief and dispute mediation cases has increased, it is taking a long time to resolve the dispute, so we will provide active support by legally allowing the holding of dispute mediation meetings through online methods so that dispute mediation can be carried out quickly."
